Isle of Palms Marina: Where to Dock Your Boat after Your Big Move

Welcome to Isle of Palms! You’ve just made a big move to the island and chances are pretty good that you’ll want to know everything about where to dock your boat. The Isle of Palms Marina is going to be the place to head to (or sail, speed, or row) for a great facility for your vessel when it’s not in use.

Way More than Your Average Marina

Located at 50 41st Avenue, just 15 miles outside of Charleston, Isle of Palms Marina has a berth capacity of 60 slips. The approach depth is 9.0 feet and you’ll approach south of day marker 116. Sounds easy enough, right?

But why is this marina so popular? Because it has something to offer everybody! It’s far more than just a place to dock your boat after your big move. No matter what you’ve got planned for the day or who you’re planning to spend the day with, head to IOP Marina.

Why Dock at Isle of Palms Marina?

This is a favorite dock for seeing all of the best things the Lowcountry has to offer. The marina always has a range of family-friendly activities and special events going on. No matter what you’re looking for, Isle of Palms Marina will be the place to head to.

Boat Rentals

If you don’t feel like taking your own boat out one day, you can rent one at IOP Marina instead. The marina has a wide selection of rentals in its fleet to accommodate your plans, whether you want to spend a romantic evening on the water, you’re up for a fishing expedition, or anything else.

Available boats range from 16-footers to 24-footers that can accommodate between five and ten people, depending on which one you choose. You can rent a boat by the hour, by the half-day, or by the day.

Every boat at IOP Marina has the required safety equipment approved by the U.S. Coast Guard, along with a local chart and a VHF radio. Even if someone in your party has never been at the wheel before, it’s okay – there is no experience necessary!

Adventure Charter Rentals

If you and your crew are up for an exciting adventure, charter a boat from Isle of Palms Marina. Let someone else take the wheel for once, leave your boat docked, and adventure out to catch fish, catch some rays, or even participate in an adventure of a lifetime. The marina has several excursion options to choose from: sunset cruises, trips to Capers Island, and even dolphin-watching tours are available!

Custom excursions are some of the most popular activities at the marina and include crabbing, adventures to Fort Sumter or Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge, night fishing, shark fishing in the summer, and cruises to Shem Creek, too.

Shop at the Marina Market

The Marina Market has everything you could need or want during your time at the marina. If you forget to bring food on your boat, the market has you covered. Need snacks for a quick pick-me-up? The market has plenty of those, too.

The Marina Market also has an excellent selection of tackle and bait, in addition to other supplies you might need on your adventures and expeditions. Souvenirs, gifts, clothing items and apparel, accessories, jewelry, and so much more are all available for you to peruse.

One Fantastic Dockside Deli

At Isle of Palms Marina, you’ll want to take some time to eat at SaltWorks Catering Co., a dockside deli with great views of the waterfront. Serving breakfast every day from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and lunch from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., this deli offers an unbelievable menu with so many items, you’ll have trouble choosing.

If you’re headed there for breakfast, try the Breakfast Bowl, the Daily Omelet Feature, or the famous Baked French Toast Casserole. Lunch-eaters might enjoy the IOP Chef Salad, a classic BLT, a cheeseburger, or a beef or Philly cheesesteak. You can even call ahead and swing by for a pick-up on your way to your boat!
